EU is a W. Bureaucracy is cancer. Ursula is not elected by the people. Kick her out and hold elections or shut her up. She talks like she's the queen of europe.
The idea is to make European products more competitive and to make Chinese companies ship from EU warehouses (so taxes are paid).
I used to be mildly eurosceptic, but I think EU is finally waking up. There's renewed focus on tech and supply chain independence, of competitiveness of EU companies, etc.
I just wish they stopped this age verification and other BS. Why can't we just give kids phones that tell websites "hey I'm a kid's phone"?

Only an idiot would think that way, tax system was there for packages over 150€. No one will move their business for small electronic parts like controllers, caps, mosfets etc...

i would be pro-EU if they weren't trying to take away my basic human rights like privacy. if all this push for surveillance is like a russian or american effort to destabilize trust in the EU, they are doing a good job. if it's coming from within, we are doomed

Bureaucracy is a natural and necessary part of any government anon. There's no more of it in the EU than anywhere else.
I liked the EU like conceptually, it seemed like a good idea with ... mixed execution. But in the current geopolitical environment I think it's success is essential for a livable future.
The big players are once more dropping the act and throwing their weight around as they always could but chose not to and any EU-member state would find itself a plaything of the big boys if they were alone.
The EU itself seems to not have realized that and still wants to keep going as we always have, playing nice with China, Russia, the US as if they weren't all out to divide us up and bleed us dry.

I used to be somewhat pro-EU. Chat Control and the kids act has turned me somewhat EU-skeptic. The packaging law isn't helping either
