because 30 years ago they used to sell you film rolls with 200 uses each for 1/4th the price of this. Not to mention it was space efficient instead of just being portable printer with a shitty digital sensor with a filter added on top. Literal jeetmade technology trying to larp as a lost technology.

Film rolls and these "instant films" are different. film rolls are negative and have to be developed, like in a dark room. But they actually often gave you the film rolls for free when you developed a set.

Yeah these are overpriced but I don't think they are quite at ink printer (HP) scam level.

film rolls are much more of a niche merchandise than they were 30 years ago before digital cameras

>$1 per tiny photo
Anon that's ~5 times more expensive per print than original brand name ink cartridges + photo paper pack, 10+ times more expensive than oem ink refills and store brand paper.

Outside of vendor lock in and DRMs there's nothing scammy about HP, if anything Instant cams are the what you call the "HP" Scam but on steroids. Ink cartridges and paper are like 10x cheaper per per print per area than those shitty toys.
