Stallman's an autist without a clear understanding of the motives behind our ethical norms and absolutely no fucking ability to read the room, but as far as his conduct towards other people goes, the worst I've ever heard is that he's a difficult guest and prone to doing weird shit like picking at his feet. He is however correct about the dystopian direction in which computing has been moving and the importance of free software as the only potentially viable counter.

Given that he has, as far as I know, never hurt anybody, I just can't get that worked up about him having wrong opinions that he later retracted, in light of the fact he's been possibly the single most consistent, dedicated advocate of free software to have ever lived, and possessed of the actual technical chops to contribute meaningfully to that movement.

Also from what I recall that Epstein thing was heavily misconstrued.

I hate RMS for being a horrible, horrible activist in general. The FSF has been utterly ineffective for software freedom as they basically just LARP as activists and complain about terms nobody uses.

Also a very underrated reason to hate Stallman is he keeps pretending "GNU" is somehow an operating system.
