Fucking hell, I feel so behind in life. Why the fuck did I let myself rot for 10 years while everyone around me gained experiences and grew? I feel so out of place. I can't let myself desire anything because I only get pain in return. How can I say this to people without sounding pathetic? At the moment I'm lying, making everyone around me think I've lived.

Just tell people you want a sort of fresh start and don't elaborate further if you're scared of sounding pathetic, acknowledging you need to start over takes bravery so I doubt anyone will think lowly of you for that.

Might sound cliché but there's no such thing as being behind. Heck I used to think it's "too late" for me but it's really just a mindset thing. I'm avoiding the word "issue" here on purpose because I also understand how things can just derail slowly over the years and that's not anyone's fault.
Maybe you have lived after all and just don't recognise it? And even if you haven't lived, nothing stopping you now.

You feel "behind" because you are judging yourself by the metrics of capitalist ideology, which is designed to make us all feel inadequate so we keep chasing and consuming. If you think your life only has value if you are actively "gaining experiences" to show off, you are completely brainwashed.

I think that what you are saying it's true, but I feel left behind in the relations sphere, amorous and not. There I don't know if that's applicable. The problem is that I avoided interacting with the world staying hidden at home for 10 years, and now trying to do something different hurts.

I think this could work but not when approaching people for a more genuine connection, friendship or whatnot. Or am I mistaken?

I did it, the problem is that sometimes I fall back into it. Bur I'm talking specifically about people I'm knowing irl, that permeate experiences that I didn't have.

Your fate isn't unique. it’s the new normal. I may not know your exact background, but the NEET/hikikomori lifestyle isn't the result of personal failure. It is the inevitable outcome of a hyper-individualized, digitalized social system. Your interpersonal alienation is the logical consequence of this social order. And this alienation is growing among everyone, not just you. You don't see what normies are really feeling. Yet they are just as alienated, they just don't openly admit it. Human existence is currently on the verge of dissolution. It is being replaced by a completely synthetic, mechanical existence. We all have FOMO. I have FOMO. You have FOMO. Normies have FOMO. It is the fundamental state, it is the default programming in this era.

Do these people play any role in your real life? Do you meet them in person? If not, then you should forget about them and cut them out of your life completely. Mainstream social media platforms are designed for exactly that: to make you feel inadequate. Stay away from them. It’s total brainwashing. The people you "envy" are actually pathetic slaves. You should despise them, not envy them. That is your real problem.

Stop measuring yourself with the "experiences" of stupid, pathetic slaves. There are so many people who have achieved far greater things. Those are the ones you should compare yourself to! Ted Kaczynski, Kaneko Fumiko, Nietzsche, Karl Marx, Diogenes, Antisthenes... pick someone for yourself. There are so many far more extraordinary people who have had much greater experiences. Forget the idiotic slaves.

Yeah, I'm talking about people I met in person, who are flawed and complicated but have lived. I'd like to interact with them, build something togheter but I feel so insignificant and underdeveloped compared to them.

Why would it not work? It's not like you need to open the conversation like that, just if someone asks what you're up to/why you're feeling different to them?
