There’s stuff related to d&d, like elves, rogues, clerics, thief, orcs, etc.
main difference is that magic is a card game, based of numerous mechanics and five colours (each representing a philosophy).
You combine the mechanics you prefer with the colours you prefer and base your strategy on that
